14-16. Milagros y remedios naturales.-
Los milagros de Dios no siempre tienen la apariencia externa de milagros. Con frecuencia tienen lugar en una forma que parece como el acontecer natural de los sucesos. Cuando oramos por los enfermos tambi\u00e9n trabajamos por ellos. Contestamos nuestras propias oraciones usando los remedios que est\u00e1n a nuestro alcance. El agua, debidamente aplicada, es un poderos\u00edsimo remedio. Cuando se la usa con inteligencia, se ven resultados favorables. Dios nos ha dado inteligencia y quiere que aprovechemos al m\u00e1ximo sus bendiciones que dan salud. Pedimos que Dios d\u00e9 pan al hambriento, entonces debemos actuar como su mano ayudadora para aliviar el hambre. Debemos usar cada bendici\u00f3n que Dios ha puesto a nuestro alcance para liberar a los que est\u00e1n en peligro.<\/p>\n
Me fue presentado el caso del pastor… Lo buscaron desde un lugar distante, unos 130 km, para que orara por una hermana enferma que lo mand\u00f3 llamar siguiendo las ense\u00f1anzas de Santiago. Fue a verla y or\u00f3 con fervor, y ella tambi\u00e9n or\u00f3. Ella cre\u00eda que el pastor era un hombre de Dios, un hombre de fe. Los m\u00e9dicos la hab\u00edan desahuciado diagnosticando que morir\u00eda de tuberculosis; pero 951 fue curada inmediatamente. Se levant\u00f3 y prepar\u00f3 una cena, cosa que no hab\u00eda hecho durante diez a\u00f1os. Pero ese pastor era una persona vil; su vida era corrupta, y sin embargo se hab\u00eda hecho un prodigio, y \u00e9l se atribuy\u00f3 toda la gloria para s\u00ed.<\/p>\n
Hombres que est\u00e1n bajo la influencia de malos esp\u00edritus obrar\u00e1n milagros. Har\u00e1n que algunas personas caigan enfermas proyectando sobre ellas su hechizo, y despu\u00e9s quitar\u00e1n el hechizo induciendo as\u00ed a otros a decir que quienes estaban enfermos han sido curados milagrosamente. Satan\u00e1s ha hecho esto vez tras vez (Carta 259, 1903).<\/p>\n
Est\u00e1 completamente fuera de lugar el que se esfuerza por emplear un lenguaje elocuente cuando ora. La elocuencia que Dios acepta es el clamor ferviente y anhelante del alma que siente que debe recibir ayuda.<\/p>\n

“Acercaos a Dios”. \u00bfCu\u00e1l es el resultado de esto? 14-16. Miracles and Natural Remedies\u2014
God\u2019s miracles do not always bear the outward semblance of miracles. Often they are brought about in a way which looks like the natural course of events. When we pray for the sick, we also work for them. We answer our own prayers by using the remedies within our reach. Water, wisely applied, is a most powerful remedy. As it is used intelligently, favorable results are seen. God has given us intelligence, and He desires us to make the most of His health-giving blessings. We ask that God will give bread to the hungry; we are then to act as His helping hand in relieving hunger. We are to use every blessing God has placed within our reach for the deliverance of those in danger.<\/p>\n
A case was held up before me of a … minister; eighty miles he was sent for, to pray for a sick sister who sent for him in compliance with the teaching of James. He went and prayed in earnest, and she prayed; she believed the minister to be a man of God, a man of faith. Physicians had given her up to die of consumption. She was healed immediately. She arose and prepared supper, a thing she had not done for ten years. Now the minister was vile, his life was corrupt, and yet here was a great work. He took the glory all to himself.<\/p>\n
Men under the influence of evil spirits will work miracles. They will make people sick by casting their spell upon them, and will then remove the spell, leading others to say that those who were sick have been miraculously healed. This Satan has done again and again (Letter 259, 1903).<\/p>\n
He who strives for eloquent language when praying is entirely out of place. The eloquence that God accepts is the earnest, longing cry of the soul which feels that it must have help.<\/p>\n

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.<\/p>\n
\u201cDraw nigh to God.\u201d What is the result of this? We cannot draw nigh to God and behold His loveliness and compassion without realizing our defects and being filled with a desire to rise higher. \u201cAnd he will draw nigh to you.\u201d The Lord will draw nigh to him who confesses to his brethren the wrongs he has done them, and then comes to God in humility and contrition.<\/p>\n
